SEASONALITY

Our season begins in November and runs through May, with Sol importing a large volume of containers each week. We offer a fully integrated supply chain with the capability of shipping directly from our farm to your store.

PACKAGING

At Sol, we offer customized packaging solutions. We believe our unique customization has been key to forming our long-lasting relationships with some of the country’s top retailers.

FARM LOCATIONS

Sol melons are sourced from our farms in Honduras and Guatemala— spread across 17,500 acres of farmland—where the Central American climatic conditions are perfect for our cantaloupes, honeydews and watermelons to grow.

PRODUCTION & FARMING TECHNIQUES

Sol melons are developed in our nurseries and later transplanted to the fields where they are grown and harvested when they reach full maturity. The fruit then is transported to our certified packing houses, in accordance with all FDA-approved food-safety regulations. We pack our melons into breathable bags to ensure the best quality experience for our product while preventing any possible contaminations.

We ship into nine different ports throughout the continental United States, allowing for fresh and fast delivery of our products to your store during the winter melon season. These ports include

TRACEABILITY

Sol is committed to ensuring that our products can be fully traced from farm to retail store and are in compliance with the Produce Traceability initiative. Sol is also C-TPAT certified.

We are constantly evaluating our methods and practices to improve our melon varieties and partner with the best seed developers across the globe to provide both retailers and consumers with the highest-quality produce.
